Brazilian Jazz at its best combining Samba, Bossa grooves with Contemporary Jazz melodies and arrangements Formed in 2005 by Brazilian Born David Chong, Tatu Rei is comprised of some Australia's premium World and Jazz musicians.

Neda Rahmani and Mark Grunden come from a decade dedicated to Brazilian batucada and Samba with all drum band Tumbarumba, which underpins the strong Rhythmic sense of Tatu Rei.

Latin and Flamenco guitarist Nathan Slater comes from a long line of musical masters, bringing to Tatu Rei a deep melodic knowledge and rhythmic Spark which accentuates young VCA graduate James Giligan's solid work on bass.

Add to this the flair and sophistication of well respected Australian Pianist and Andrew James and you have a band which is composing and performing some of the most impressive World, Jazz music within Australia.

NowHere involves two emotionally charged, angst filled performance acts, challenging the notion of living and belonging 'inbetween'. It tests a dancer's boundaries within the classical, traditional and contemporary aesthetics. Using dance, music, rhythm, vocals and visual elements, NowHere articulates two sensibilities of 'nowhere' and 'now here'.

Exploiting a solid technique of the two most popular South Asian classical dance styles of Bharatanatyam and Kathak, Indian classical music, combined with theatrical elements, Divya Kasturi presents NowHere , an intricately carved and designed contemporary South Asian dance production with artistic collaboration at various levels promising a visually stunning choreography.

Multi-instrumentalist Spankie works up voice, electric piano and strings into cinematic indie-pop, while co-headliner Donen plays from his contemporary folk-rock opera album 'Vampires', drawing on Brel and Cohen, also accompanied by string section. James Spankie, Adam Donen, Bethia Beadman James Spankie is a multi-instrumentalist singer, writer and producer whose work on violin and cello, epic cinematic arrangements and driving rhythms resemble something akin to a one-man Arcade Fire.

His self-released debut EP '1' caught the attention of School of Seven Bells, who asked him to support them whilst promoting their 'Alpinisms' album. It also caught the attention of Huw Stephens who has given James airtime on Radio 1 as well as hosting him at The Social in London, and at Latitude Festival which he played with a full band including two drummers and a string ensemble.

EP '2' will be available on strictly limited edition white 7" and the usual digital outlets from the 5th December.
