His releases (Ubiquity, Rush Hour and Werk), and killer performances (he was the UK DMC and ITF Champion when he was still only a teenager!) have caused a major buzz around the world. The infamous Ooops! 12", fuses Hudson's raw drum programming and future-proof synths with the glitz of mainstream rnb-so hot it sold out within a week of hitting shelves. Recently Hudson signed to the world-renowned Warp Records and his first full-length album drops in 2009.

Let me preface this by saying that I have the utmost respect and admiration for songwriters who can write song after song. Those very talented individuals who, while they are sitting on the plane, in the bathroom, or at a dining table, grab a napkin, the roll of toilet paper, the safety guide on the airplane, or whatever may be handy and start frantically writing. While I have had this inspiration once in a while, its not a fluent talent. So my hats are off to you! The statistics were very interesting and I hope not conclusive of what is going on in the music industry right now, although I suspect they are indicative of it.

TECHNICOLOR REVELATION

A busy convention center floor lit with metal halide lamps overhead and abuzz with international traders speaking in all the worlds native tongues, some speak Mandarin while sipping coffee from Styrofoam cups as other's converse in languages secret to most shifting their stance on the lightweight concrete battleground.

You're standing in the middle of the tradeshow arena, where global apparel gladiators trade and negotiate over textiles and manufacturing agreements. Pastel purchase orders are signed in triplicate, a receipt is issued and a scarlet red stamp seals the agreement as Japanese business men pass New York business women on the way to the Las Vegas airport to return home after a long weekend at the Pantheon of the apparel trade.

The Devil Wears Prada

I'm not certain that the Devil wears Prada, but I am sure that she has been teasing my web site.

Shifting ones and zeros while I'm listening to the electronic pulse of Style of Eye and live modern acid jazz, hiding in the corner next to the bookcase, my midnight muse.

After 400 plus hours of design and edits and six versions later, my publishing project has finally turned a corner, the same intersection that keeps me typing hundreds of pages and analyzing html code instead of creating hundreds of garments in my studio and workshop.

The technical challenge is moving into a downhill position and the editorial and a handful of electronic self expression is all that lies between myself and publishing my electronic art, fashion and culture magazine.

Dont Panic!!!

Vinyl platters bounced off of low orbit satellites dancing around the earths atmosphere, riding invisible lightning bolts and downloaded onto hard drives in dormitories and work-spaces in Europe, America and Japan.

Friendships traded and language barriers conquered through laser-imprinted silicone chips living in aluminum cases in suburban living rooms, studio offices and apartment bedrooms.

The simple fact of the world is that we do not know where the world of independent fashion design might go and what it will look like as the future arrives through our DSL lines and turquoise blue CAT 5 cables, as a result of the creation of the Internet and its accessibility to increasingly everyone, the future is more of a mystery now than ever.

The Cereal Box Mystery

Something art, fashion and creative culture inspired sits on my hard drive, sleeping until it's time to be awakened from its restless winters nap, traveling at the speed of light into homes, studios and apartments in America, Europe, Asia and Australia.

A ray of light shining down on creative personalities inspired to express themselves through various forms of art.

As the icy winter conditions in Detroit begin to slow and start to be persuaded to lie down in a comfortable bed for the year until it's time for the earth to rest again next winter, and as the snow and slush melt and drip off of the bumpers of city busses and taxi cabs, the electronic signals start to travel starting with whispers at first that can't be heard unless your listening with all of your heart.

DJ Warp: Psychic Attack EP cat# elek016

This is the debut release from Takashi Watanabe aka. DJ Warp

First two tracks on the Psychic Attack EP are hard-techno, the third one is deep-techno.

This is the real deal old-school induced material that some call "proper-techno", not the squeeky, miminal kind that certain online shops refer to as Techno these days.

Psychic Attack opens this package with that high screechy sound that Joey Beltram used to love (think the Luke Slater remix of Forklift but a bit warmer). A hard techno track that starts of scarce and cold but gets warmer as it builds. Definitely a track for those that love their rolling bass sounds. It's borderline psychedelic with it's twisting electronic sounds and long filters in the breakdown but keeps changing to keep you on your toes and not drift off into the forest.

Electric Groove is a solid dark dirty underground warehouse party slammer, something you could expect to hear in the London

Introspective, sensual electro-folk steeped in weightless melancholy: The third Milosh album 'iii' takes the listener on an emotional journey through an exquisitely beautiful musical landscape. A classically trained cellist, Toronto-based Michael Milosh does not fit conventional pop categories - and neither does his music which combines beats, samples, guitars, strings and the most silken falsetto voice. Signed to the renowned Plug Research label (John Tejada, Flying Lotus etc), Milosh's previous two albums made it into the Top 10 Electronic Music albums on iTunes and earned warm reviews that likened his different musical shadings to Radiohead, Cocteau Twins, and Brian Eno. During the past years, Milosh shared the stage with artists like Imogen Heap (a big supporter of his music), Flying Lotus, Daedelus, Dntel, Psapp and others. The tracks on 'iii' combine the best of both Milosh's cerebral electronica and soulful singer-songwriter sides, stirring deep emotions with lush arrangements, honeyed vocals and delic

2008 LP Say It Straight

Reviewed by Dobbie Glasson

24 July 2008

Experimental rock band The What 4 has delivered their debut full-length album Say It Straight. With such diverse sounds on the one release, it's no wonder they have been busy playing and getting some air time on Three D Radio. The What 4 are Jo Herbert on guitar and vocals, Frank Usmiani on bass, Wil Martin on drums and Paul Handley on synthesizers. Say It Straight is full of mind blowing sounds and effects, coming together nicely to produce a very stable record.

Rolling bass starts 'Science Fiction' which kicks the album into gear, and already it's into blazing synth and a guitar lick that tops this song off nicely. In 'Highbrow' the build up is worth the wait for the swelling, throbbing heart of the song. It's here you get the first taste of Herbert's womanly vocals and they are matured and somewhat sultry.

'D Construct' and 'Robotic Chaotic' give off a huge wall of sound; a surreal canvas of music filled wi

Los Angeles, CA - Award winning Ryan Farish and multi-platinum recording artist Donna Lewis release the first single of their much anticipated collaborative project "Ryan Farish & Donna Lewis". (Farish Music International/Peruzzi Music)

Donna's Lewis, widely know for her smash #1 hit "I Love You, Always Forever" (Now in A Minute/Atlantic Records), is the perfect compliment to Farish's chart topping signature chilled, electronic sound and production.

Ryan Farish and Donna Lewis create the perfect fusion of electronica and heaven on "Dancing Angel" with vocals that cut through the clouds, an out-of-this-world beat that pulses high above the earth and an angelic techno melody. Lewis' voice takes you to a dance club so divine it could only exist in another realm, singing "I'm walking into a place I've never been before / Watchin' the pulse tick / Watchin' the eyes glaze over." "Dancing Angel" makes you float, dance and, most importantly, happy to be alive.

by Mark Kirby,

Whatever one could say about Hills Rolling, the moniker of one-man band Trey McGriff, you can't accuse him of having shallow roots. On his myspace page he lists as influences about one hundred or so bands and musicians. There are old schoolers (Otis Redding, The Beatles, Pink Floyd), new schoolers ( The Killers, My Morning Jacket), tweeners (Nirvana, Dinosaur, Jr.) electro types (The Cure, Depeche Mode) and eclecticians like him (Beastie Boys, Beck). No doubt this is in part a smart-ass commentary on the "what are your influences" question. It is also a list of people he has most likely listened to and is another way of saying that all the music he has heard, or for that matter, everything he has been through, is recorded by the brain, swished around by time, and reflected in his songs. Loves, hates, sounds, tastes, it's all in your head. Musically and lyrically, this message comes through loud and clear on his CD Sweet Tea.

With all this in his musical blender, he has come up with

So what is it with these SNOG guys? Just when we have them all figured out as agit-prop electro propagandists they go and drop a brand new CD-EP the title track of which (City) is an electro-power ballad. And a strangely affecting and even touching electro-power ballad at that. Don't they know that electronic bands are meant to just make the same record and over and over again? Sheeesh. This could really upset the apple cart.

And what's with those new collaborations with those denizens of the dubstep deep Monster Zoku Onsomb? Are they weird but kinda catchy or what? And Thrussell (if it really is Thrussell?) now he sounds a bit like a mutant Berlin cabaret singer from the 1920s over an elastic mashed-up beat. This really is too much.

And then they bring out the remixes, The Calculator's svelte dancefloor killer, Curse Ov Dialect's straight-up insanity and to top it off right near the end of the record there is some guy sounds like he is singing songs around a camp fire to a bunch of Girl Guides.
