10 years of images from Lake Cowal Changing Landscapes is a photographic exhibition documenting the story of Barrick Gold, the world's largest gold miner, and their operations in the culturally and ecologically significant area of Lake Cowal. Lake Cowal is an ephemeral lake experiencing periods of flooding and drying in 20-year cycles. The Lake is not only a Nationally significant wetland but is known as the Sacred Heartland of the Wiradjuri Nation.

Covering a 10 year period the exhibition explores the beauty of Lake Cowal and the stark changes on the landscape through gold mining. Exploring the natural changes through drought and the changes created by human intervention Changing Landscapes aims to inform the community and wider public about the environmental impacts of Barrick's gold mine at Lake Cowal. The photographs tell a dramatic story of struggle and beauty in the face of the resource boom.

The launch party for The Record Room, Hardware Gallery Martay Feeling, Matt Hardware Hoare Hardware Gallery presents a mammoth display of record covers, featuring unlikely combinations of Elvis Presley and Humphrey B. Bear, Kamahl and the Beastie Boys, alongside a diverse selection of electronic dance and techno.

Hardware Gallery, located in Enmore, is officially launching The Record Room this June. The Record Room is part of a unique combination - a used vinyl record shop housed within a contemporary art space. The idea for The Record Room evolved through the challenge facing gallery owner Lew Palaitis of properly sorting a personal collection of over 10,000 records. This soon moved to setting up a dedicated retail space for selling used vinyl records. The Record Room now boasts a huge selection of records from a variety of sources. It provides the perfect compliment to a thriving commercial art gallery in Sydney's Inner West.

The Eminescu Poetry and Art Festival is happening at the Tap Gallery between the 15th and the 21st of June 2009. Mihai Eminescu ( /mi'haj e.mi'nes.ku/) was a late Romantic poet, novelist and journalist, and regarded as Romania's most famous and influential poet. The festival will celebrate the life and work of Eminescu, over a packed week of poetry, music, theatre, film and art exhibition.

The Eminescu Festival draws parallels between the cultural heritage of both Romania and Australia and will highlight both country's shared passion for poetry. Romanian poets, artists and musicians living in Sydney will perform alongside leading contemporary Australian poets over four dates of the festival. Five award winning Romanian short films will also screen during two FREE movie nights.

Exhibition of local and interstate artists new work. Fundraiser event for El Joyero Cafe Twin Vicars Artists include: Fjorn Butler, Rachel Dixon, Phil Ballantyne, Jessie Warren El Joyero is a new cafe/record store/venue/gallery that is due to open at the end of July. In preparation we are holding a number of fundraisers to help us kick start it, and support local artists. So far we have had some great events and shows, and this is our first ever art exhibition.

The art exhibition will showcase the work of seven Melbourne and interstate artists including Fjorn Butler, Rachel Dixon, Phil Balantyne and Jessie Warren (QLD). Established and forthcoming artists will exhibit new works in the mediums of drawing, photography, painting and installation. The focus of this exciting event is supporting Australian artists between the ages of 20-30 and will give them the chance to gain exposure alongside developed arists and a new audience. The exhibition is free of charge, open to the public and will run for two weeks

After a popular treasure hunt event in 2008 Shoot Experience are returning to Camden this summer with their unique interactive photographic story-telling experience. Following the resounding success of the debut Shoot Storyboard event at Tate Modern, Capture Camden - an architectural adventure will take the Roundhouse by storm on Saturday, June 27th. Capture Camden will be a unique architectural Shoot Storyboard event in partnership with the Open House "The Lives of Buildings" weekend and English Heritage as part of the Mayor's Story of London project.

"The Lives of Buildings" weekend presents a great opportunity for the second outing of the new Shoot Storyboard format. Teams begin the day at the Roundhouse, where they are given different parts of a pre-written story and sent into the local streets to find inspiration and take photos that respond to or represent each phrase or word.

The largest annual orchid show in Australia, this year's show will be bigger and better than ever due to the change in venue. Thousands of orchid flowers and spectacular displays of hybrid and species orchids from around the world.

Culture and potting demonstrations will be run on an hourly basis by local and interstate experts. This year's spectacular will be run in conjunction with the Victorian International Orchid Fair.
