Let me preface this by saying that I have the utmost respect and admiration for songwriters who can write song after song. Those very talented individuals who, while they are sitting on the plane, in the bathroom, or at a dining table, grab a napkin, the roll of toilet paper, the safety guide on the airplane, or whatever may be handy and start frantically writing. While I have had this inspiration once in a while, its not a fluent talent. So my hats are off to you! I was first introduced to Warren Keats by the late Laurie Allen, Warren was his new guitarist, even though I am not a musician myself it was easy to see he knew what he was doing when it came to music, this was one reason Laurie Allen added him to his team.

When Laurie passed away he put a lot of his own needs to one side to finish The cd that Laurie was working on but didn't quite finish, at great expense to himself. Once he got Laurie's cd out as he promised he dabbled with his own music. He showed me a clip of one of the songs he wrote, but not only did he sing the song but played every instrument and did his own harmonies ( something he learnt from Laurie I think ) and then to top it all off he edited the film himself.

Mandingo Trio is to perform at Smeltedigelen Jazz and Blues Festival in Mo i Rana, Norway, 12th October this year. The trio, consisting of highly talented and innovative artists from East and West Africa, fuses the sounds of ancient and modern Africa in a way that is has been described by critics as groundbreaking. In a spate of a short time, Mandingo Trio has managed to build a reputation as a hard working trio that always delivers. Last year, the trio performed both at Zanzibar International Film Festival (together with the Norwegian blues musician, Knut Reiersrud) and Oslo Mela Festival among others.
