In the aftermath of the devastation of WWII, Romanian writer Isidore Isou emigrated to Paris in 1945. Driven by his desire to publish his writings in Editions Gallimard, Isou followed a similar path taken earlier by fellow countryman and artistic agitator, Tristan Tzara. Isou began publishing his experimental poetry in the French capitol while becoming involved in various underground groups, numerous stormy events and jarring scandals. In 1946 he co-founded the anti-establishment art movement Lettrism (the precursor to Situationism) with Gabriel Pomerand. Using both the anti-art movements of Dada and Surrealism as an artistic template, Lettrism radicalized culture with its virulence and rancor and promoted the destruction of poetry in fav

Celebrating the diversity of San Francisco by bringing film and music that embodies the Bay Areas unique mixture of cultures, the S.F.F.F.F. works to create a sustainable and supportive network of independent artists in the Bay Area.

In an area of virtual media, the S.F.F.F.F. will give artists a place to exhibit their work, build skills, and highlight their talents.

Our programs are thoughtfully selected educational and cultural events that will strengthen the artistic bonds of audience and artisan through international and local recruitment, with a special eye to developing the film and music community of the Bay Area.

S.F.F.F.F. hosts an annual film and music festival, as well as screenings, local music and dance events, and international web based features including screenings on 'Second Life', and through active community participation and programs.

An uplifting love story, it touches on Asian American history from the 30s-50s. the teams star power lands the opportunity to sign a feature film, but their hopes are dashed by World War II. Then, in the aftermath of the war, the fabled Chop Suey Circuit changes forever. Their loves, breakups, and reunions will be told in a Broadway-style music, dance and comedy.

Performances will be on July 24 @ 8:00 p.m. and on July 25 @ 2:00 pm and again @ 8:00 pm.

Tickets will be $18 general, $10 youth/ seniors/ alumni, $5 CSUEB students w/ ID.

The Eminescu Poetry and Art Festival is happening at the Tap Gallery between the 15th and the 21st of June 2009. Mihai Eminescu ( /mi'haj e.mi'nes.ku/) was a late Romantic poet, novelist and journalist, and regarded as Romania's most famous and influential poet. The festival will celebrate the life and work of Eminescu, over a packed week of poetry, music, theatre, film and art exhibition.

The Eminescu Festival draws parallels between the cultural heritage of both Romania and Australia and will highlight both country's shared passion for poetry. Romanian poets, artists and musicians living in Sydney will perform alongside leading contemporary Australian poets over four dates of the festival. Five award winning Romanian short films will also screen during two FREE movie nights.
