The celebration launch and screening of the first two films for WORLDwrite's London Behind the Scenes project The More the Merrier & Cash Back

The celebration launch and screening of the first two films for WORLDwrite's London Behind the Scenes project will take place at: The New Vibe Lounge, 91-95 Brick Lane, London, E1 on Sunday 20th April 2008 at 6pm.

The two short documentaries, entitled The More the Merrier and Cash Back, examine immigration and remittances, and will be screened along with guest speakers, wine reception and canaps.

The More the Merrier, set in St .Katherine's Docks, lyrically interweaves historical archive with the desire of one young Indian woman to stay in the UK. With positive arguments from the Battle of Ideas immigration debate, the film presents a uniquely pro-immigration view and timely case for complete freedom of movement.

Cash Back, set in Brick Lane, highlights the scope of remittances - monies sent by migrants and diasporas to friends and families overseas. Thes

Songwriters Survey: What You Must Know by Jaci Rae - Every songwriter and musician has a dream. Things you must know for your
Blog Entry
Let me preface this by saying that I have the utmost respect and admiration for songwriters who can write song after song. Those very talented individuals who, while they are sitting on the plane, in the bathroom, or at a dining table, grab a napkin, the roll of toilet paper, the safety guide on the airplane, or whatever may be handy and start frantically writing. While I have had this inspiration once in a while, its not a fluent talent. So my hats are off to you! The statistics were very interesting and I hope not conclusive of what is going on in the music industry right now, although I suspect they are indicative of it.

4 Bizarre Films Coming To A Theater Near You Cinema Verite Gawker

In the excitement following last year's Hollywood writer's strike, a lot of projects got restarted or greenlit. The fruits of those labors are now unfolding in movie theaters across the country, and some of them are too weird to live, and too rare to die. Whether it was studio enthusiasm to get any project going, any at all, or a desire to repeat the same old formulas and see if they could still make money (or do so for the first time), these upcoming films seem particularly unlikely to succeed:

Are the executives who put together these projects high, or just crazy enough to be billionaires? The Film: Four Christmases

In this poignant and inspiring new memoir, Douglas contemplates what life is all about, weighing current events from his present frame of mind while summoning the passions of his younger days. Douglas is a born storyteller, and throughout Let's Face It he tells wonderful tales and shares favorite jokes and hard-won insights. In the book, he explores the mixed blessings of growing older and looks back at his childhood, his young adulthood, and his storied, glamorous, and colorful life and career in Hollywood. He tells delightful stories of the making of such films as Spartacus, Lust for Life, Champion, The Bad and the Beautiful, and many others.
