However mixing them together is just what Comedian and Harmonica player Michael Connell is planning to do in a new comedy show. "I've been doing comedy for over eight years, and playing the Harmonica for the last four, and I've always kept my comedy and music very separate," Michael explains. "However, recently I've begun to notice there's a lot of similarities between the Blues and Comedy. For me, they're both about taking something negative, like being poor or getting cheated on, and turning it into something positive like music or laughter."

The Maton endorsed singer songwriter has played 30 shows in NSW, VIC and SA in the last three months, working songs live for an upcoming album.

Two tracks from the album ('One Chance' and title track 'Sift The Noise') both received strong triple J rotation. The latter, still a current fixture on triple J playlists, has also been added to ABC local radio rotation (65+ stations nationwide) and is currently being used in a national 10 week campaign on SBS TV. The SBS promotion uses 2 minutes of the track as the soundtrack to a teaser for their upcoming programs and run's on SBS prime time for the next 2.5 months.

Exhibition of local and interstate artists new work. Fundraiser event for El Joyero Cafe Twin Vicars Artists include: Fjorn Butler, Rachel Dixon, Phil Ballantyne, Jessie Warren El Joyero is a new cafe/record store/venue/gallery that is due to open at the end of July. In preparation we are holding a number of fundraisers to help us kick start it, and support local artists. So far we have had some great events and shows, and this is our first ever art exhibition.

The art exhibition will showcase the work of seven Melbourne and interstate artists including Fjorn Butler, Rachel Dixon, Phil Balantyne and Jessie Warren (QLD). Established and forthcoming artists will exhibit new works in the mediums of drawing, photography, painting and installation. The focus of this exciting event is supporting Australian artists between the ages of 20-30 and will give them the chance to gain exposure alongside developed arists and a new audience. The exhibition is free of charge, open to the public and will run for two weeks

A gathering to show we are concerned about Climate Change Astro-Chem, Pleased to Jive You speakers and more 75.4% of Australia's CO2[e] emissions come from Energy sector and around 90% of electricity used in Australia is still generated from the burning of fossil fuels such as coal.

Our Government is suggesting a 25% reduction in CO2[e] emissions by 2020. It is strongly suggested by the majority of climate suggestions that to stop the Earth becoming more than 2c warmer, we need reductions of at least 40-50%.

To get this we must invest in renewable energy - and now. We have the technology to do this - we just need the will.
