Bobby V has never impressed me and Sexy Girl doesn’t either. Bobby Valentino falls back on the same old formula of, ‘ Baby you are fine, baby you are gonna be mine’ .. booring! Even the more easily pleased punter would find this track hard to take thanks to the lack luster hook and annoying delivery. However, the beat is some what of a saving grace as it contains some nice, subtle guitar and behind a breezy, cool groove. Good music, regardless of genre, sometimes seems to get overlooked or underappreciated; whether it is because of restrictions (limited radio/TV exposure), fickle listeners or a number of other reasons. They could have just duplicated the method that has worked for them in their previous album. But what makes Interpol so respectable is the fact that they decide to take a different path every time, regardless of what their circumstances are. As a result, Our Love to Admire derives from an entirely new concept that is innovative yet also eyebrow-raising. Our Love to Admire is a very clean and well-produced album. On the other hand, a sense of emptiness lingers in the work. Perhaps the shortage of hooks, the lack of apparent direction, and the sleepy rhythm section all contribute to the vacancy. Songs such as “No I In Threesome” and “All Fired Up” are some of the best on the album, but they do not have the features that immediately grab a listener. Here approacheth another in a continuing series of reviews concerning Lifeforce Records and some of their roster's '08 output. It's always a good thing to become acquainted with labels, especially those within your favorite genres; it's the easiest way to continually find albums you'll be interested in hearing. Unfortunately, most of these Lifeforce efforts I've been hearing have fallen a bit flat. Not really awful, but no more than middle-of-the-pack stuff. This Or The Apocalypse is one of the younger bands onboard, and Monuments is their sophomore showing. The band, one of the modern hardcore/metalcore sound, is heavily dependant on the quick-fingered rambling of Jack Esbenshade and Rodney Phillips. Surely if the novel were written sometime after now, “‘Eyes Of Light’, Electric Aborigines by Awesome Color” would stand a chance of making at least one of their lists. Krescent4 To Showcase New Release Emperor At The Ontario Independent Music Awards Ann Arbor, MI-November 1, 2007-Krescent 4 the hometown boys from Michigan are set to showcase their new album Emperor at the Ontario Independent Music Awards in Toronto November 15th at The Phoenix Concert Hall. The event is also a charity event for The Toronto Wildlife Center. The band is very excited to be a part of the event, which supports indie music and charity with Rock ‘n’ Roll. The band will also be picking up a gig November 16 at The Savannah Room in Toronto. K4 features Kris Keller (guitar), Stimy (vocals), Adam Nine (bass) and Kurt Keller (drums). They are a tightly knit unit that focuses on delivering powerful guitar licks to push their sound to an incredibly high energy level. It all boils down to Rock ‘n’ roll but it is too general a statement to explain the K4 sound. They also bring elements of metal to their sound, which gives them a much wider, decidedly younger audience.

Following the departure of founding member and guitarist, Benjamin Curtis, The Secret Machines' future was uncertain. Further solidifying this uncertainty was a lack of support on the side their label, Warner Bros., who didn't exactly see the changes within the group's camp as a cause for optimism. Fortunately, the group managed to break away from the politics of major labels, and as of today (October 14) has released their third LP, the self-titled Secret Machines, via the newly founded TSM Recordings. JamBase had the opportunity to discuss the group's future on several different occasions over the past few months.
