Marcus Kaes and Christian Klppel take a small but important and successful part in the german club music scene for more than about 10 years by now. They got involved in several roles in the business such as club-, label- and eventmanagers, record dealers and most of the time simply as DJs. Since Marcus worked as A&R for labels like ZYX Music and Music Research, Christian is known as the mastermind behind the well known and popular german online community netraver.de.

Both have grown up and turned 30 meanwhile, but their youthful enthusiasm and energy is still enormous. Since about 2 years, they dedicate a lot of time to the tiny and charming Club Loon located in the small town of Diez between Cologne and Frankfurt, where a lot of remarkable guests (Karotte, Dapayk, Someone Else, Pierre, Frank Lorber, i.e.) guarantee 1st class excessive nights till dawn.

Too many cooks spoil the broth? Definetly not if three masters of LNZs Minimal style Cuisine prepare their very special synthie molecular meals. Tabled piping hot from a secret kitchen located somewhere in the concrete heart of Frankfurt/Main, FRESH FRIED finally come up with their debut album THE MENUE. The young project consisting of the producers Chris Wood, Nedzad Berovic and Frank Leicher already took the DJ playlists of named Tech-House DJs by storm - not only in Germany and Central Europe-wide, but also in the States, Russia and even Japan. Certainly it would have been easy to put all tracks of the recent 12-inches 50 WAYS and MADNESS on album to guarantee a second success for LNZ. But FRESH FRIED would not call themselves FRESH FRIED if everything wouldn't be totally new.

For the third time Adam Proll has released a 12" for Cocoon Recordings. And just like in the two predecessors, "Hummel" and "Adamantido", the native Pole is at the pulse of time and, with "Flight 407", creates a beautiful and dreamy Summer Tech House track, which seems to be made for the forthcoming open air season. Warm, soft beats are as skillfully and elegantly used as trippy half time snares and thus make the A side sparkle of life. In contrast to this, "Abbadon" is more something for the neverending After Hours of this summer. The warm and deep Detroit sound reminds of sunsets at the beach and is bringing back this special feeling to the dance floor - may it be in Frankfurt, Berlin or everywhere else.

Supermayer, Modeselektor, Tiga and more remix Alter Ego's 2007 album Why Not?!. What's Next? will be out in May. Jorn-Elling Wuttke and Roman Flugel's Why Not?! was one of the loudest and most in-your-face dance records of last year, and the sequel arrives with a similar potential, promising "corny jokes, grotesque gags and mind-expanding wobble." Remixers tackling the Frankfurt electro duo's source material include Carl Craig, Joakim, Supermayer, DJ Koze, the latter of whom delivers an Afrobeat version of 'Jolly Joker' Modeselektor's take on 'Fuckingham Palace' is rumoured to be dubstep, while Tiga and Carl Craig both tackle 'Gary', the glam rock latest single from the album.

The concept of this music is the disbanding of sound into its tiniest components ... into sound-"atoms". In the Klanglabor Frankfurt all different sorts of sounds were sorted out and taken into their smallest parts. After that they were worked on and built together again to completely new sound constructions.

On "1 Environmental Atoms (7.55)" environmental noise was the source of the sounds, on "2 Noise Atoms (14.59)" it was white and pink noise whereas at the end of the composition sine and triangle waveforms were used additionally. "3 Machine Atoms (15.35)" works on machine sounds and machine-specific processing-parameters. "4 Subharmonic Atoms (14.45)" uses sounds of a world novelty, the -Subharmonic Arpeggiator-. Tones of the overtone row are not fit together to subharmonic chords, as Oskar Sala does, but are generated as freely combinable subharmonic arpeggios. "5 Sadness Atoms (13.57)" is the only track that does not deal with the conversion of sounds but with the conversion of emotions... completely

Following Andr Galluzzi's mix cd "Berghain 01", our resident dj Marcel Dettmann presents us the second installement in this series, "Berghain 02". It is his first commercially available mix ever.In the course of 72 minutes, Dettmann fathoms his very own sonic spectrum. Not relying on recent trends, Marcel draws his inspiration from frequent djing at Berghain, his only benchmark for his purist approach to Techno.

Dettmann was born 50 kilometeres outside of Berlin in Frstenwalde. In 1992 he discovered Techno and immediately bought a pair of turntables at an age of 16 years. He promoted parties in Dresden and Frankfurt/Oder which gained him reputation eventually leading up to a residency at Berghain's predecessor OstGut. Since 2004, he also works at Berlin's record shop institution Hard Wax. Two years later, he finally started to produce his own tracks. His tracks for Ostgut Ton, his own imprint MDR and remixes for artists like Ellen Allien and labels like Rekids reflect the unique and bass heavy sound of t
