Off the back of sell-out shows in Perth and across Australia last year, the founding father of Ethio-Jazz will play the vibraphone, congas and percussion in what can only be described as a mixture of traditional Ethiopian melodies, Afro Jazz and classic soul and funk.


With a music career spanning over four decades, Astatke, now 67, continues to wow crowds and has performed at some of the world's most influential venues, including Glastonbury. Astatke will be backed by The Black Jesus Experience, a 10-pieces ensemble that blends traditional Ethiopian music with jazz, funk and hip hop.

Since the phenomenal success of their debut self-titled album in 2004, audiences around the world have embraced the unique sound of founders and multi-instrumentalists Marc Collin and Olivier Libaux, bringing a bossa-nova twist to classic 80s post-punk hits. Supporting nationally is the highly talented Impossible Odds from Brisbane.


The Last Kinection's album 'Nutches' is a soundtrack to the lives the band members have experienced as young Indigenous Australians (Murries) living an urban life.
