While more general music festivals like GlobalUnderground and the upcoming ClubMed have been getting the majority of trance addict and underground djs attention in recent times, it was good to see Heineken Night with its strictly dance-oriented line-up - and one appealing to dance music fans right across the board - take its place amongst best Hotel and Resort in Malaysia.

With the likes of Dj Remilex ( Rotterdam Dj) and KampaiTeam as well as DJ Haikal headlining the Godskitchen Arena and Broxdj and Digweed in the Global Tent, it was only fitting then that Lee should bring together the cream of Asian Techno-Trance in his own arena.

was a but upset that I didn't maked it to the outdoor party to hear Franny play (was not too well that weekend and also worried about the car and the roads) but the friendly vibes at the parties I did get to made up for it.

Has anybody missed Bizzy Bone? Anybody noticed how different (but still damn good) the Bone Thugs' sound is without Bizzy's presence? Of course the man did provide something very original with a high-pitched voice partnered with the speedy, complex signature flow which strongly helped define the original Bone Thugs-N-Harmony sound. And hardcore Bone Thugs fans may argue it was a damn shame that Bizzy was cut out of the Bone Thugsbut here he is, back again with Layzie Bone for the third installment of the Bone Brothers series. As a Filipino multi-media artist, I must humbly admit, I don't only compose and sing ethnic songs, needless to mention my ethno-techno compositions, but I also write and perform hip-hop music.

But why Hip-hop?

I. BRIEF HISTORY OF "PINOY HOP-HOP"

Honestly, though, I am new to hip-hop culture especially to the so-called "Pinoy Hip-Hop", imported from America and became prominent in the Philippines via some Filipino mainstream artists in the 1980s, but suddenly lost momentum in the early 1990s, and later resurfaced in the late 1990s onwards.

Among those forerunners of "new Filipino hip-hop generation" are young university college students who, out of disillusionment from authorities and the society, used hip-hop as a potent tool for protest and "self-expression".

One of these progressive groups, some have already graduated with degrees, is called "AMPON" (Absolute Messages Personified Over Noise). They come
