Those very talented individuals who, while they are sitting on the plane, in the bathroom, or at a dining table, grab a napkin, the roll of toilet paper, the safety guide on the airplane, or whatever may be handy and start frantically writing. While I have had this inspiration once in a while, its not a fluent talent. So my hats are off to you! The statistics were very interesting and I hope not conclusive of what is going on in the music industry right now, although I suspect they are indicative of it.

As I 'm fast approaching 30-years-old, I can't help but reminisce over what I thought my life would be like by now. The outcome is a little different than expected, but it's been a pretty amazing life thus far. So, I figured I'd celebrate my birthday like I do every year with a week long fiesta. The party started with a late lunch at Pulino's with my friend Taryn. This Italian restaurant positioned right on Houston Street in Nolita proved to have great service as well as delicious food. Taryn and I shared a carafe of Ros, a burrata pizza, and a Insalata Nicoise. Highly recommended by our server, the pizza was garlic-y and cheesy. The crust was thin and crispy so it was easy to throw back a few pieces. Hell, it was my birthday! Later that evening we met up with some of my other friends for some early drinks at one of my favorite East Village spots, Yuca Bar. This place serves up phenomenal cocktails and happy hour from 1PM - 8PM. |

| | popbytes | Syndicated | Earlier this week I had the opportunity to attend an advance screening of NBC‘s highly-anticipated new ‘musical’ show Smash. I’m sure by now you’ve seen the promos which have been running rampant gearing up for the premiere taking place on February 6th (after the season premiere of The Voice), I’m happy to report the show did not disappoint at all. In fact, I was actually blown away by the drama (blood, sweat and tears!) of bringing a new Broadway show to life based on Marilyn Monroe. The show stars Katharine McPhee and Megan Hilty who are both vying to play Ms. Monroe, the cast also includes Debra Messing and Christian Borle as the show’s creators, Angelica Huston as the producer and sexy Jack Davenport (who apparently is now dating Messing in real life) as the director.
