Walked in the door around 9pm hahahah ... to see Erther play and say hello ... but the lineup had been bumped around and someone was warming up things with a few tracks ... and when I returned to the floor with a drink ... aniki was playing.

Aniki got the shits pretty early on. The decks weren\\\\\\\'t stable and there was a fair amount of skipping, so he was crashing records togther but it didn\\\\\\\'t matter, as it was in keeping with the theme of the night, loud and raw. He finshed rather early I thought by dropping a Motley Cru track (God I think it was \\\\\\\'Kick Start my Heart\\\\\\\') and cranked it to 11 while he packed up ... Some people in the lounge closed the door in disgust and things were underway, truly a fitting way for the night to start ...

Cadmium pollution: Cities on alert

The levels of cadmium in a small section of the Xiangjiang River in Central China Province of Hunan are still above safety levels after a spill last week, a senior provincial official said yesterday.

The levels were "one or two times" higher than the national standard in the Wangcheng section of the river in a suburban county of provincial capital Changsha, Jiang Yimin, provincial environmental head, told China Daily.

While more general music festivals like GlobalUnderground and the upcoming ClubMed have been getting the majority of trance addict and underground djs attention in recent times, it was good to see Heineken Night with its strictly dance-oriented line-up - and one appealing to dance music fans right across the board - take its place amongst best Hotel and Resort in Malaysia.

With the likes of Dj Remilex ( Rotterdam Dj) and KampaiTeam as well as DJ Haikal headlining the Godskitchen Arena and Broxdj and Digweed in the Global Tent, it was only fitting then that Lee should bring together the cream of Asian Techno-Trance in his own arena.

I thought I would squeak out one more review this year in honor of a great musician who passed away in 2009 just after the release of his album, Immolate Yourself. Telefon Tel Aviv was basically a duo between Charles Cooper and Joshua Eustis. Cooper was found dead the week after Immolate Yourself was released. As of right now, Eustis has no plans to continue Telefon Tel Aviv.It really is a shame because Immolate Yourself is a great electronica album. One that brims with energy and excitement while crossing new boundaries in sampling. The album opens up with a brilliant and inspirational track simply called "The Birds". I get a very vivid city-scape vision with this song. Then, not quite as upbeat, we get "Your Mouth". It's every bit as smart as the opening track, just a slower BPM. "M" starts out like they are playing underwater as the New Order-like track washes over you as it comes out from the depths. Damage- "Funky Beats"- I purchased this cd after hearing the real audio sample for this track, and consequently, it ends up being one of my favorites on the cd, This track is a slightly different twist on the damage sound....Its a slower, funkier groove that chugs along around 137 for a bit before busting out the sample "This the best you can do? No new style?" Hell yeah there's a new style, and its killerrrr...then the gritty breakbeat and raw damage synth sounds that I loveee...the funky beat sample repeats a bit much....but hey, I'm not complaining cause this track ROCKSSSSSS! (and a dope ending as well ) 9/10
