Headlining we present one of the jewels in London's thriving live music scene with a debut Hootananny show from the mighty brass band rebels The Hackney Colliery Band. Support come with a serious Afro-Funk groove with The Jon Speedy Band and some ragamuffin loop riddims from Jamman aka Colombian musician Luis Garcia. DJ Cal Jader fills in the gaps with a full fat selection of anything from latin beats and tropical heat, to Hip Hop, Disco and Funky.

Hackney meets Ipanema at our Xmas party featuring some of our favourite things. Ross Clarke plays between the wonderfully esoteric Hackney Colliery Band and the sublime Brazilian singing of Heidi Vogel. HCB was formed in 2008 by a group of London horn players in a Hackney kitchen. They were inspired by New Orleans marching bands, Balkan brass and the contemporary hip hop-influenced brass coming out of the US, and decided it was time for a British take. Keen to bring some of the UK's own brass band heritage to the table, they quickly recruited two killing drummers and strapped marching drums to their chests. Fernando's Kitchen is back at Rich Mix following their sell out show in January earlier this year.

The group of multi-cultural musicians will be performing their very own modern Flamenco Latin and North African music, also called Nu World music, a fusion of passionate and eclectic sounds from all the corners of the earth and beyond.

Featuring the Fernando's Kitchen band, a 6 piece line-up of spanish guitar, double-bass, oud, flamenco cajon, percussions, palmas, vocals, and trumpet. They are also well known for being one of the few completely independant bands that does everything themselves, setting the new trend and inspiring upcoming bands in London to do it independantly, come and see how they pack out and rock a venue all on their own!

Here's a bit of that Uncut review: "Man Man's sound recalls Tom Waits in both his lovesick Troubadour and gothic hotelier guises, as well as the phantasmagoria of Danny Elfman" Man Man, La Shark, White Heat DJ's Man Man is joining us from Philadelphia. They're over in Europe for a few weeks and making a two-date foray into the UK.

Benji Boko and his fantasticly ecelectic live show of mind bending mash ups comes to Bloomsbury Lanes for a very sepcial We, Like You. In support are the amazing Hackney Colliery band playing a live show and then the We, Like You regulars. Boko describes his show as "on the fly, off the cuff, completely improvised live remixing." Were talking Mozart vs. Missy, Dizzee vs. Depeche Mode and Snoop vs. Simpsons, just to name a few. Crowds are being transported from the 'norm' into a world of pure imagination.

A carefully selected, strategically planned series of samplers, sequencers and switches form the backbone of Boko's arsenal. A complex set-up to say the least but ready to take out any dancefloor.

Hackney Colliery Band is a nine-piece brass band usually found playing hip-hop and 'brass funk', or venturing into the sound worlds of jazz and ska... Collectively run, the project has several composers and arrangers, and the HCB sound is a collaboration between all the musicians involved. We play tunes by MF Doom, Blackstreet, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Ozomatli, Minnie Riperton, Justin Timberlake, Toto, Notorious BIG and Twista, as well as originals by our band members.

In support will be the regular We, Like You cast; Beats in Abundance, Novice of genius and matt Freedom.
