The ScorcherFest Latin Dance Party showcases some of Adelaide's best and brightest dance talent in the arena's of Salsa, Merengue, Zouk, Bachata, Brazilian Samba and street Cha Cha Cha! Latin Dance Party as part of ScorcherFest ScorcherFest is part of the Adelaide Fringe Festival and Flinders Uni O'Ball and is in its 6th year running. The festival is now rated as one of the premier local, live entertainment, all age and fully licensed extravaganzas of the Adelaide Fringe. Boasting 50 bands, 6 stages, dance and comedy as its drawcards, the 2009 Festival is set to rock the latin dance scene in Adelaide for the first time!

Showcase acts from the Adelaide dance scene will kick off at the Matthew Flinders Auditorium from 5.30pm, followed by an explosion of amateur latin talent on stage for an after show party. All the while, you can visit our festival stalls, to check out who's who and what's what in the world of Salsa and Latin dance.

Singer Amarfis Aquino and La Banda de Attake are one of the hottest groups on the already sizzling merengue scene. Born in the Dominican Republic, and with a father in the music business, Amarfis was exposed to Latin rhythms from an early age. Since the 1998 release of his debut, Amarfis has been a star in both North and South America and Europe. His latest album, 2006s On Fire, has been a critical hit and popular smash.
