WHAT was the point of Putera Umno’s distinctly under-celebrated North Pole jump? I guess you had to be there. They should all be safely home today, whereupon the rest of us might get a sense of what it’s like to jump out of a Russian military helicopter a couple of kilometres over the North Pole, into the whipping down draught of rotors whirling through thin air at minus 18 degrees Celsius, to plunge down through the Arctic ether and land at the Pole with enough breath left for a lusty rendition of Negara Ku.Not the sort of thing normal people normally do. But that was the point of the exercise: These were not normal people. They were adventurers. Risk-takers. | | | Blog Entry | Hi there! We would like to introduce an idea we have developed for European bands & artists. Every band is welcome to sign up to Church Of Noise & participate in the venue rating. Once having created your account you will be able not only to submit & introduce venues you have played shows at but to rate its work with the help of criteria such as sound, organization, care & catering. You do not necessarily have to submit venues but you are welcome to rate some which have already been submitted & rated by other bands & artists. Once you submit and/ or rate a venue you can leave a comment you should use to underline & express whatever comes into your mind concerning the venue & show. At the moment we are looking for international bands from all over Europe to start adding new countries & venues to our databank. More than 200 German bands have contributed more than 200 venues already which have been rated around 400 times. If you know bands or people who could help out - please spread Read More... |

Fittingly then, their new "Terran" record is being released in limited fashion, only forty copies. These five songs are vintage Sujo, and a good place to start if the label has some left for you.Basically the band continues its majestic instrumental journey through noise, shoegaze and black metal, mixing those aural cues in a stew that is massive and gripping. Think Mono, Aun, or Burzum if you must, but this is all Sujo. From the caustic peaks of the title track, to the icy ambient "Freefall" (which includes vocals that can only be described a obscure and disjointed), Sujo is all about moods, and the more visceral the better. Of the other tracks, "Shale" is dark, slow and disturbed, and one of their best ever tracks. The closer is the noisiest, and the appropriately titled "Divination" leaves one with an echoing into the abyss, Ryan once again creating tones and atmospheres that sound eternal, if not comforting. "Terran" is one of Sujo's best, and r isreal Read More... |
| | Music Emissions Alternative Music Reviews | Syndicated | In the days before metal was invented, young long-haired Scandinavian males would find an outlet for their hormonal frustrations by climbing aboard wooden longships and setting sail to go and indulge in a spot of rape, pillage and plunder on some unsuspecting coastal village to the south. I suppose it was inevitable then that a music genre which appeals primarily to young males, full of pent up aggression, a genre which has been criticised for being aggressive, violent, and anti-religious, should lead its Scandinavian devotees to make that link between metal and Vikings. Ladies and Gentlemen, warriors and berserkr, I give you Hammerheart. The man behind Bathory, Quorthon, is generally regarded as being behind the so-called Viking metal genre. Now whether that is a genre in itself is open to question. Frankly, I just see Hammerheart as being a black metal concept album about Vikings, but each to his own I guess. And about Vikings this surely is, though let's be clear, we are talking the stereotypical image of V isreal Read More... |
| | Humpty Records New Releases | Syndicated | Leila has already released three albums, a trilogy if you will. In 2009 she started to write a body of work that felt different. Maybe it was being sober, but this one seemed to be about being more direct. Leila first met Mt. Sims at a fancy dress party way back in 2006. Leila went as Leila. Mt. Sims dressed as a Computer Processing Unit fashioned from a cardboard box with strategically placed slits. She had admired his music since his work on Gigolo Records, she was most happy when he introduced himself and said he was a fan. Fast-Forward to 2009, Leila decided the man who had dressed as a C.P.U. was the perfect voice for this new body of work. 'In Consideration' was made within two hours of him arriving at her home studio, when it comes to noise she doesn't like to waste any time. Then came an intense period of sonic interactions. 'Welcome To Your Life' was particularly fun in it's inception. Backing track pretty complete, as Leila watched Countdown Mt. Sims casually wrote a song Leila liked isreal Read More... |

Not the tree, or the next tree, go beyond the trash receptacles. Thank You. Anyone and everyone who wants to keep Heathers open for another 2 years!!! " Capital New York isreal Read More... |
