..much more fun than the Cambridge the night before which had no vibe and certain very unfriendly bar staff (certain people should NOT be working in bars!) ... Saturday's sessions and evening fun at the Gatsby Ball more than made up for it though!

Gatsby's had a much more mixed crowd too ... probably part of the reason the vibe was so much better there!

As always at ThisIsNotArt there were interesting sessions, zany performances, and a diverse and friendly mix of people with different and complementary interests .. its more than just another party.

... and as bonus I got hold a piece of piezo plastic that might be put to use for something interesting!

The Brixton based 3head is MC Ras Bogle, Tinderstick drummer Al Macaulay, violinist/arranger Calina de la Mare and guitarist Dave Woolfson. Along with ex Moontwist vocalist Ruth Rogers-Wright and bassist John Thomson (Nectarine No.9 and Scott 4)., and input from Adrian Sherwood. Ex pat' and songwriter Ruth Rogers-Wright will perform a set of old and new (tracks from as yet unreleased cd) at the Spanish club on Friday supporting Linda Hunt. A rare chance to hear a haunting voice and truely original music. Prepare to be amazed.

This time last year EDM4MUSIC did not exist! Songwriter Sally Edmondson had set up Every Day Music Publishing as a vehicle to promote her own songs and had just met Jaime Boylan. Jaime had returned to Jersey having graduated, top of her class from the top of her class, from The Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford. Jaime went on to record some of Sally’s songs and March 2006 Sally was promoting Jaime singing her songs and HMV Jersey was selling Jaime’s CD. The Bethany & Rufus Roots Quartet "Live A Fip" CD features 12 tracks, and will debut in Europe on the Daqui Records label.

The "Live A Fip" CD release was a natural extension of Bethany & Rufus' collaborations with Jean-Baptiste and Moumouni. Bethany & Rufus, who share the same label with Moumouni, also shared the stage with him for one song during the 10th anniversary celebration of Daqui Records. They knew instantly that their political beliefs and musical chemistry would bond them together, catapulting them forward with continued performances. The trio became a quartet when 'Bonga' Jean-Baptiste was invited to perform with them the following summer at Les Nuits Atypique.
