Live local musicians will kick off the night and an open mic proceeds after the screening Documentary makers Sheryl Oteyza and Felipe Ruiz will open for Q&A "WE DANCE TO WHATEVER MUSIC IS PLAYING"

Once upon a time, the Philippines was a very different place. A place where the inhabitants once had a special relationship with their natural environment. But this changed as western dominance over the Philippine islands brought about a new ideology, one that people living within their natural environment are poor and that they should exploit their natural wealth.

Filipinos have the uncanny gift to be able to accept and integrate new ideologies into their culture; to be able to dance to whatever music is playing. This time aro

The Angels Reunited
Blog Entry
I saw the Angels Reunited last night at South Juniors, Sydney and wasn't expected too much especially after seeing the Footy Show but was BLASTED away by their rockin performance. I was reminded of why I was an Angels fan and why I always saw them live in the 80's.They are one of, if not only, the best live Aussie band to ever go and see - so full of electricity and energy. Doc delivered true to form, except for the running around like he used to (have to account for age) and the Brewster brothers just pumping out those memorable, melodic riffs was just fantastic, to say the least. If you were, are or going to ever be an Angels fan, you've got to go and see this tour. It's not to be missed.

Lotro Thoughts on the “Undying” TitleI am a completist.Though I am also motivated to explore and be the best, I am most motivated by my desire to complete everything.cheap lotro goldIn this game, this means completing every quest and every deed. As one of these deeds is “the Undying”, it becomes part of my goal; as far as I am concerned, any character of mine that does not have the title is incomplete. Since I have no way to earn the title after I am defeated, I must start a new character each time.To demonstrate that this is how I play most games, and that Lord of the Rings Online is not an exception, I list some examples from other games. In Asheron’s Call, I maintained several collections, the most notable of which were my complete collections of pack dolls, Halloween masks, and bronze statue weapons. In Final Fantasy X, I completed the Sphere Grid so that each of the characters was at their maximum possible power. In Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, I achieved 100% completi

Five ideasWhat people should be talking aboutBy Dwayne Mamo April 29, 2007 | 12:00 a.m. CST[1] EXIT STRATEGYPresident Bush has vowed to veto a Senate proposal passed Thursday that would require American troops to begin leaving Iraq by Oct. 1.Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said the legislation is “in keeping with what the American people want.” However, the White House immediately labeled supporters of the bill as defeatist and announced that the measure “is dead before arrival” on the president’s desk. Indeed, members of both parties are already starting work on a new bill. Thursday’s legislation passed 51-46 along largely party lines, suggesting that Democrats do not have the two-thirds majority to override a presidential veto.Meanwhile, the troop “surge” that Bush authorized three months ago has led to improvements in Baghdad and the Anbar province, said Gen. David Petraeus, U.S. military commander in Iraq.Thursday’s vote came almost four years after

BLACKSBURG, Va. - The family of Virginia Tech gunman Seung-Hui Cho told The Associated Press on Friday that they feel "hopeless, helpless and lost," and "never could have envisioned that he was capable of so much violence." "He has made the world weep. We are living a nightmare," said a statement issued by Cho's sister, Sun-Kyung Cho, on the family's behalf. It was the Chos' first public comment since the 23-year-old student killed 32 people and committed suicide Monday in the deadliest shooting rampage in modern U.S. history.Raleigh, N.C., lawyer Wade Smith provided the statement to the AP after the Cho family reached out to him. Smith said the family would not answer any questions, and neither would he."Our family is so very sorry for my brother's unspeakable actions. It is a terrible tragedy for all of us," said Sun-Kyung Cho, a 2004 Princeton University graduate who works as a contractor for a State Department office that oversees American aid for &nb

Not fashion show or outer look, at least not to me, but much love to anyone with wishes to express who they are. I?m cool with that.

Pan-European Booking Community For Bands - Church Of Noise
Blog Entry
Hi there!

We would like to introduce an idea we have developed for European bands & artists.

Every band is welcome to sign up to Church Of Noise & participate in the venue rating. Once having created your account you will be able not only to submit & introduce venues you have played shows at but to rate its work with the help of criteria such as sound, organization, care & catering. You do not necessarily have to submit venues but you are welcome to rate some which have already been submitted & rated by other bands & artists. Once you submit and/ or rate a venue you can leave a comment you should use to underline & express whatever comes into your mind concerning the venue & show.

At the moment we are looking for international bands from all over Europe to start adding new countries & venues to our databank. More than 200 German bands have contributed more than 200 venues already which have been rated around 400 times.

If you know bands or people who could help out - please spread

TYLER KYTES DEBUT EP Available NOW!

Hailing from Lindsey, Ontario, 22-year-old singer/songwriter Tyler Kyte has a voice that grabs you and won't let go. Blessed with a distinct vibrato, and raspy tone reminiscent of Eddie Vedder and Michael Stipe Tyler sings with a passion and emotion rarely heard. His songs combine the classic rock of Steve Miller and Pearl Jam, with a more rootsy approach that could as easily fill a stadium as a coffee house.

Tyler began his professional career as a child in acting. At the age of 10, he landed the coveted role of Young Tommy in the cult musical Tommy at Toronto's Elgin Theatre. This was soon followed by a recurring role in the pre-school science show Guess What and co-hosting the highly successful television series Popular Mechanics For Kids for three years. Additional credits include principal and leading roles in Darcy's Wild Life, Missing, Prom Queen , The Elizabeth Smart Story, Goosebumps & Are You Afraid Of The Dark among others. Microwave Popcorn Health Scare

A recent news piece on CNN Prime News Tonight with Erica Hill revealed evidence that microwave popcorn could be harmful to your health. In the news piece it was discovered that Fluorooctanoic Acid was shown to be in high levels in microwave popcorn bags.

Fluorooctanoic Acid, which is added to the microwave-popcorn bags as a resistant coating, releases onto the popcorn when the bag is heated up and is then absorbed into the bloodstream and stays there for a long time. This chemical appears to be carcinogenic in lab animals. The FDA is now studying the affects of this chemical in greater detail.

In todays society we know that the moral fiber of our communities is in peril. Why then, do we not protect our children? We have a responsibility to safeguard our most vulnerable; instead, we prematurely catapult them into a world they are not mature enough to handle and destroy their innocence. Frequently, I am asked by parents and friends of aspiring stars to offer my opinion about getting their child into show business. Recently my publicist, Marsha Friedman, President of Event Management sent me the following question: After the performance I spoke with her mom (who was in tears the whole time) about their incredible daughter and her future. Their daughter's dream is to be on stage singing professionallyI said I would forward some information to you - to get your thoughts. After much contemplation, I wrote to the parents (excerpt):

If you've ever felt like your career was heading for a train wreck and didn't know where to turn, look no further than your own mirror. While you will find there are many people in the industry who will help you once you've succeeded, it's a far cry sometimes for anyone to help you when you are climbing up a ladder that sways in the wind and each rung seems like it's going down instead of up. The biggest inspiration you can have to avoid a career collision is to get up, look yourself in eye in your mirror and remember the classic children's book, "I Think I can, I think I can, I know I can, I know I can." From "The Little Train That Could." Say to yourself when you are looking in that mirror that You Can do it! You will do! And then get out of your comfort zone and DO it! Then start looking on the Internet for local musicians meetings to begin your networking today. Build your list of potential supporters one hand shake at a time.

How to Market Your Band's Music and CD to Make Money by Jaci Rae - How to on Music and Money Jaci Rae - The Rae of Hope - The

As a musician, bands have it easier than a solo artist in terms of cost to make a CD. Other than that, there are little or no differences. For bands/artists who wish to start the process of making, distributing, and getting radio airplay by themselves, believe it or not, you are starting your own record label. Even if your goal is to land a major recording contract, you will still need to gather more attention for your music by cutting, distributing and promoting your own music. Youll have a much better chance at getting a great record deal with a major label if you are successful on your own first.

Let me preface this by saying that I have the utmost respect and admiration for songwriters who can write song after song. Those very talented individuals who, while they are sitting on the plane, in the bathroom, or at a dining table, grab a napkin, the roll of toilet paper, the safety guide on the airplane, or whatever may be handy and start frantically writing. While I have had this inspiration once in a while, its not a fluent talent. So my hats are off to you! The statistics were very interesting and I hope not conclusive of what is going on in the music industry right now, although I suspect they are indicative of it.

I will begin the holiday season fully relaxed and enjoy it!

Yet every year time seems to slip away and suddenly the holidays arrive. How I Feel About It :

We reviewed Di Evantile’s Inertia last December and I remember thinking that Beatrice Clarke went a little easy on it. It seemed a little too Animatronics, too machine-like and the keyboard sounds seemed too cheesy and overused. Even if it was superbly orchestrated (and some of it well-played) it sounded a bit hollow and soulless to me. So imagine my surprise when I drew Infrared Clock to review. I thought, “Here’s an excellent chance to set the record straight.” But Di Evantile changed some things, and for the better.

This album is dreamy and trance inducing. It’s the perfect music to go to sleep to, without actually inducing sleep. There’s something at once modern and primeval about it, and it urges the listener to dream on an epic scale without requiring epic amounts of energy to do it. This isn’t a work that I will ever feel passionately about because it’s only interested in
