Legends of the original UK Punk/New Wave scene Vic Godard & Subway Sect return for their first headline show of the year in London with a band featuring original members and Paul Cook from The Sex Pistols on drums. Vic Godard & Subway Sect In 1976, Godard formed Subway Sect with three other fans of the Sex Pistols at the suggestion of Sex Pistols manager Malcolm McLaren, who wanted another band for the line-up of the 100 Club Punk Festival

Despite their inexperience, Subway Sect made a successful debut at the festival and were taken on by Clash manager Bernie Rhodes

They appeared with The Clash on the White Riot Tour in 1977 and released their debut single, "Nobody's Scared"/"Don't Split It", in March 1978

While recording their debut album at Gooseberry Studios, Rhodes suddenly fired the entire band except for Godard

Only one track from the album's recording sessions, "Ambition", was released by Rough Trade records; the single was a major hit on the alternative charts

On February 25th Vern launches the first of his Nude Disco nights at the Electric Social in Brixton Cassette Club LIve, Vern (Stretch & Vern & Reflekt, Stimpy (Concrete) The night will combine the best of Classic & Nu Disco, French Touch, Italo & Indie Dance. Combined with this there will be live performances from bands from the world of electronic music.

Kicking off the first live set will be the Mighty Cassette Club, Ben Macklin and Tom Hammond use their obsessive knowledge of all things electronic and soulful to create irresistibly good-looking pop music. Rich and sophisticated, flawlessly executed and irrepressibly feel-good, Cassette Club have perfected the art of electrosexy.

80's indie cult band The Band Of Holy Joy promote their new critically acclaimed album 'How To Kill A Butterfly' with their first show of 2012 at The Social in central London. The Band Of Holy Joy Forever changing, consistently unique yet, always somehow the same, the Band Of Holy Joy began life as gutter chansoniers using junk shop instruments to propagate a brute romantic madly literate form of dispossessed urban folk music.

Since then the band have scaled a few heights fallen down in one or two gutters, broken up, glued themselves together, toured the world, released a fair few albums for the likes of Rough Trade and fully explored other media by presenting two audio visual song plays: Troubled Sleep at the Shunt Theatre in London 2008 and an Invocation for William Burroughs at the Sorbonne Paris in 2009. They have set up their own label and Internet radio station Radio Joy.

These days the junk shop instruments of old are long gone, and guitars, violins and visuals very much to the fore. But the band
