GREENPOINT— Looks like Studio B's angry neighbors are finally getting their way. According to the Brooklyn Paper, the Banker St. nightclub has been shuttered by the DOB: "'All of the concerns have been met and we’re waiting for further inspections,' said Fisher, a well-connected former city councilman. As a result of the closure, Studio B shows between July 31 and at least Aug. 19 have been relocated to different venues." The Brunz lobs another wild pitch this week, filing on small and affordable East Village Korean joint, the alleged Momofuku alternative, Persimmon. The meal and the service sound uneven, but there's nothing Bruni appreciates more than good value. This is the third full length release from Israeli trance duo, Dark Soho (Boxer and Rizo). 'Light in the Dark', arrives as a highly anticipated follow up to their December 2002 release on Alchemy Records, 'Combustion'. In the two years since their last release, Zeev Dukman has left the project, and Boxer and Rizo have progressed onwards, creating a new Dark Soho sound which is well showcased throughout the new album. As Zeev was the Dark Entity third of the group, it is only fitting that from the remaining two thirds, Boxer & Rizo, Soho, (the sun), comes an album that is indeed the Light in the Dark....That being said...here are the tracks...

Early last year, we all learned the Soho staple and Japanese favorite Honmura An would close forever when owner Koichi Kobari announced he was moving back to Japan. Regulars streamed into the Mercer Street restaurant in its final weeks to get a last fix of noodles and bemoaned another great restaurant lost. Kobari emails today to let us in on some happy news, though it's not exactly the reopening announcement noodle fanatics were hoping for: "We we able to finish our sixteen year of Honmura An with a bang; it was like a New Years Eve every night for three weeks. And I was most overwhelmed and thankful for the wonderful compassionate friendship and patronage of our New York customers.

Now as my handsign left on the door of the old Honmura An space on Mercer promised, I am back in business. This time in downtown Tokyo. A new Honmura An in Roppongi has opened last winter. I just saw the original sperm donor aka carlos leon at Broadway and Spring with a girl that looked very much like a boy. Overly skinny platinum colured very short hair, did not look very attractive to me at all walking around soho on broadway and spring. They both looked like they were on some kind of dieting competition since both of them looked extremely thin. I assume carlos likes women that are very manly/menly considering madonna has very strong arms as well. The girl looked like she was a little boy. Very overly drugged up skinny, not attractive and carlos leon looked overly skinny with sunken cheeks. He just did not look like he was doing well at all. He looked very depressed and tired.
