| | [Industrial] [Nation] | Syndicated | Tonight, Rivet Riot ends 3 1/2 years of audio assault and mayhem. I will be saying goodbye to my loyal listeners, friends, and supporters, as well as the jerks who keep requesting Flo Rida. Also, desecration, AKA Laura of Thee Basket Bootique and her husband Scott will be joining me in the studio. So tune in online (or over the airwaves at 91.1 FM, if you happen to be within about 10 miles of Granville, OH) tonight from 11:30p to 2a EST. As always, I will be playing industrial, EBM, powernoise, new wave, dark wave, synthpop, and generally whatever I feel like. In addition, I'll probably be playing some sappy goodbye-type songs. If you don't like what you hear, request something by sending me an IM (thedoobie911) or calling the station (740-587-6382). Also feel free to call or send messages of love and support. Begging for just one more show will also be accepted, but not rewarded. Set lists and recordings from past shows can be found at rivetkitten.com or on rivetkitten. (heinously xposted) Read More... |
| | [Industrial] [Nation] | Syndicated | Come out and celebrate 15 years of club nights, concerts and underground music forthe final Metropolisevent! Live: AXIOME (B) DETRITUS (UK) + DJs in two rooms! Ant Zen and Ad Noiseam recording artists Olivier Moreau (IMMINENT) and C-drik (Kirdec, Elekore, Dead Hollywood Stars) will play together as the power noise duo AXIOME after a notable period of silence! Olivier and C-drik are both pioneering veterans, whose discographies span everything from hard-hitting, ear-grating technoid industrial and freeform power electronics to atmospheric ambient and experimental blues, over digital punk, drum'n'bass and even synth/electropop. They will be joined by Welsh artist DETRITUS, whose critically acclaimed combination of heavy, emotion-laden trip hop, textured and layered IDM, furious drum'n'bass and epic compositions, has broken as many hearts as it has moved feet on the dancefloors throughtout the years. Detritus opened for Iszolscope at Krudttnden in 2005, and has played at Maschinenfest, amongst other fest Read More... |

| | Humpty Records New Releases | Syndicated | Sonar Kollektiv have been racking up some seriously good re-issues recently, and this latest collection (compiled by 'friends of the family' Jazzanova) continues this quality admirably. Looking to the early period of electro when the sound was in its infancy, we see synth pop in an embryonic stage - based around the vintage gear we know and love now when it was all still fresh and innovative. The compilers have gone towards what they call 'soulful new wave and dubby rock', but to be honest this doesn't do the tracks justice - we have mangled disco, dark new wave sounds, bizarre synthpop and pre-house experimentations all showing different facets to the scene as it grew and split into different directions. The diversity shown here is in fact startling and it's very interesting to hear how the sounds were developing at this time, especially having seen what it would all turn into! I think this is one of those indispensable collections for electronic music fans - like the Soul Jazz compilations it has been handl Read More... |
