Mest - Cousins Tony and Matt Lovato grew up across the street from each other in the Blue Island section of the south side of Chicago and began playing together at seven, borrowing instruments from Tony's father, with Tony picking up guitar and singing and Matt playing bass. In high school, they hooked up with guitarist Jeremiah Rangel and drummer Nick Gigler. Tony came up with the band name Mest while looking at a case of Milwaukee's Best beer. Playing in local Chicago punk clubs, the group self-released their debut album, Mo' Money, Mo' 40'z. They got their first real break when Tony wrote to Goldfinger lead singer John Feldmann and got a response. After listening to a demo tape, Feldmann agreed to let

Their European tour begins in February 2012 and this gig at Charlie Wright's on 16 Feb is their debut and only London show. Jean-Michel Pilc, Francois Moutin, Ari Hoenig This New York based trio with Jean-Michel Pilc (piano), Francois Moutin (bass), and Ari Hoenig (drums) has toured regularly at most international jazz festivals and has performed in most jazz venues in NYC, including: Blue Note, Birdland, Knitting Factory and Sweet Basil.

Their CDs include "Together - Live at Sweet Basil, NYC - Vol. 1 & 2? (2000); "Welcome Home" (2002 Dreyfus); and "Threedom" (2011).

Since 2004 they have played often in each other's projects and are now reunited as a trio again appearing on a regular basis as at Hoenig's weekly Monday night gig at Smalls, in NYC combining their experiences with a new found language, creativity and passion. Their new album "Threedom"was released at the Blue Note in New York in August 2011 on the Mot�ma label and they have since appeared in various Canadian Jazz festivals.
