TOWERS OF FOOSBALL FUN IN THE ROCKS
Sunday, 20th July 2014
The Rocks
Football enthusiasts won?t have to go to Brazil to be part of the 2014 World Cup ? they can recreate the vibe right here in The Rocks by playing foosball on unique tables housed in six giant timber towers.

The popular tabletop game of soccer will be part of Arena Calcetto, a unique and live installation in The Rocks throughout June, July and August this year. Each timber tower is up to 10 metres high and hides a different foosball table with custom-made players, just waiting for action when the World Cup kicks off on in June!

Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority (SHFA) CEO, Catherine Gallagher, says The Rocks is the perfect backdrop for Arena Calcetto which loosely means arena for ?little football?. Arena Calcetto?s towers are derived from traditional Venetian sailing boats and reflect The Rocks? harbour setting.

?With its laneways and historic buildings, The Rocks is a great setting for Arena Calcetto?s extraordinary timber towers and their hidden foosball tables,? said Ms Gallagher.
?This fantastic installation will transform observers into contestants as they discover the custom-made tables hidden within the sculptures.

?Every one of the 132 foosball players is individually handcrafted and designed to appeal to young and old alike!

?Arena Calcetto will draw visitors and locals alike and encourage people to meet and interact with each other through a lively and highly competitive game.?

A TOAST TO YOUR FAVOURITE ROAST AT THE ROCKS AROMA FESTIVAL

For its seventeenth year in a row, The Rocks Aroma Festival is returning on Sunday 27 July this year, with a program that is sure to impress anyone who cherishes a carefully roasted cup of coffee.

Continuing to satisfy and delight the insatiable taste for quality coffee shared by Sydneysiders, the Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority have extended the event this year to last for three weeks leading up to the Aroma Festival day.

CEO of Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority, Catherine Gallagher praised the work that goes into the festival year after year, ?It?s wonderful that Aroma brings so many people to The Rocks. The Authority works hard at creating events that encourage people to visit The Rocks, and Aroma has been doing that for seventeen years now.?

Workshops this year have been curated in association with Australasian Speciality Coffee Association (AASCA) and cover every facet of coffee adoration, from the Appreciation Course to Alternative Slow Brew Methods, Cupping 101 to Latte Art and the Science of Espresso. For the sweet tooths among us, there will also be the delectable ?Chocolate ? Bean to Bar? workshop.

As in past years, the Aroma Festival will once again give curious guests the chance to sample different roasts and brews to their hearts? content. This year will feature over 65 stalls of coffee roasters, tea, domestic coffee machines and delicious fine foods that taste great with coffee. These can be savoured while also discovering all that The Rocks Markets has to offer, music and more. Witness the delicate precision of latt? art, and contribute a little piece to a sculpture made up of 1000 stories on 1000 coffee cups.

Due to popular demand, returning for its second year is the Aroma Cup, where The Rocks caf?s, with their variety of rich blends, barista techniques and carefully curated coffee froth signatures, will compete throughout the month of July to win the most coveted title of best coffee experience of the Festival. This will be judged by industry specialists as well as a people?s choice. Customers can sample the caffeine delights throughout July in any of The Rocks caf?s and vote with their taste buds.

*** COONE BIOGRAPHY ***

From a young age, Coone has been mesmerized by music in all its different shapes and forms. The creation of his successful label Dirty Workz was a huge step in this young man's carreer, allowing him to take his music beyond even his own expectations and also giving new talents within the Hard Dance scene a respectable platform to launch new and exciting sounds into the scene.By the age of 24, Coone was able to lay down an almost impossible feat; completely selling out one of Belgium's largest venues with over 10.000 Hard Dance fans for an exclusive event - Coone & the Gang. The event has certainly become one of Coone's most memorable moments, a clear pillar in his life which marked the beginning of big things to come and completely opened the Hard Dance scene in Belgium, boosted by national tv and media coverage. As collaborations with some of Hardstyle's biggest names rolled in, Coone was able to impress the world with his unique sound within Hardstyle, imprinting a distinct signature sound into his productions. His experience has lead him towards a new "Challenge"; to create an album in 30 days including collaborations with some of the Hard Dance scene's superstars. The album was met with great support in the scene, catapulting Coone to new heights.Coone's success within Europe has opened up many doors for him as his eyes are fixed on the horizon, towards the international Hardstyle scene in countries such as Australia and the United States, with a World Tour already in the making.

Without a doubt, Coone lives and breathes Hardstyle. His passion shared by thousands of like-minded souls all over the world, each speaking a universal language. Music. A binding force uniting us all.

TOWERS OF FOOSBALL FUN IN THE ROCKS
Wednesday, 30th July 2014
