+ more

THE PLAYGROUND & TRAPaTRAP?S UK launch event will be our largest show this year bringing together DUBSTEP, DRUM N BASS and TRAP until 6am in the morning this is one event not to be missed!

An unstoppable way to innovate in several styles of bass music and a ?best newcomers producers? award under their belt, DIRTYPHONICS- LIVE is with no doubt one of the most exciting groups in today?s electronic scene. If you?ve seen these French originators live, you have witnessed the future of live drum & bass performance that leaves competitors in the dust. ?

Based in Colarado, Paper Diamond has had a meteoric rise to fame within a short period after making his debut with the 2011 LP, 'Levitate'. Soon after his debut he began touring the States making a name for himself and made a huge global impact after getting picked up by Mad Decent frontman Diplo after putting his own energetic twist on a well know Diplo track he featured as the guest DJ on BBC 1Xtra's Diplo and Friends. He has since returned to his monumental tour across North America selling out 2000 capacity events and is set to make his first ever UK debut at Shapes May 3rd.

Trap duo LOUDPVCK consist of NY based Kenny Beats and LA resident Ryan Marks, both of whom bring something different to the production process. With Kenny's hip-hop background and Ryan's deep understanding of electronic music the pair meet in the middle creating some hard-hitting trap. After their remix of Flosstradamus' "Original Don" in 2012 the pair blew up and have since made big moves, touring around the US and working on a number of high profile remixes including the sought after remix of Jackal's "Shakedown". Beyond this the pair are known for their energetic sets so are definitely worth catching whilst in England.

Making their first UK appearance the Canadian trio KEYS N? KRATES have been tipped as the worlds only "trap band". Consisting of drummer Adam Tune, keyboard player David Matisse and award winning turntabalist Jr. Flo, the band are set to have a successful year. Having toured their unique sound across North America the group have since released an impressive EP "SOLOW" on Steve Aoki's Dim Mak records, which was featured on Annie Mac's BBC Radio 1 show. premiering their exclusive live show this May at Shapes, KEYS N KRATES are act you do not want to miss.

The London based duo BARE NOIZE need little to no introduction as their heavy catalogue of releases speaks volumes on their place in bass music. The pair have deep-seated roots in dub-step with their debut self released 12" Chucky / Hangover. Beyond this they have worked with a number of well known artists including Foreign Beggars and Skrillex. The pair continue to tour globally and have recently had a guest slot on Skream's Radio 1 show.

Known for his deep and dark take on dub-step the Kent-based producer STENCHMAN has been around since dub-step's early days. He is commonly known for his soundcloud page and seems to churn out heavy hitting tunes at an alarming rate. The veritable workhorse has had a number of label releases including work on Prime Audio, Sequence Recordings and Bovinyl Moosick. If you are a fan of the darker side of dub-step we wouldn't suggest missing him this May at Shapes.

Based in Brighton, England, Ozzie quickly made an impact dropping his "Attention" EP early last year. His follow up EP "Whiskey & Coke" caused just as much of a stir and has since featured as the guest DJ on BBC Radio 1Xtra. With their energetic lo-fi trap influenced sound, their Shapes show is set to explode.

Londoners, Tigerblood, are the final addition to the lineup and are no strangers to the game. Known better for their remix work, the duo have since released their 'Celestial' EP, picking up some great responses. Their trap-induced style makes for a perfect addition to this epic warehouse line up.

THE PLAYGROUND is ready to kick with the hottest local and international acts at SHAPES in Hackney on Saturday 3rd May.

Gottwood 2014
Thursday 19th June 2014
Preparations are well underway as renegade independent promoter Gottwood makes Gottwood Festival 2014 the pinnacle of its five-year history.

Announcing its full lineup for 2014 in a move that pits the likes of the prolific Gerd Janson, Margaret Dygas, DJ Format, DJ Die and Appleblim, up against Calibre, Crazy P Soundsystem, Dense & Pika, Max Cooper (live), Craig Richards, Kris Wadsworth, PBR Streetgang, Maribou State, Ralph Lawson and Tale of Us plus so many more in its intimate forest setting, Gottwood?s annual celebration of the electronic underground makes an indelible impression.

A well-kept secret with a real kick, Gottwood was the smallest festival with the biggest buzz in 2013, and with tickets flying for this year?s Fifth Chapter it?s looking like another sellout success. This year, Running Back label boss Gerd Janson joins the party and Berghain?s best kept secret Margaret Dygas invites us aboard her minimal low slung rollercoaster.

Meticulous producer Max Cooper brings a live set, as does techno evolutionary Stephan Bodzin. Seminal drum?n?bass head Calibre will be joined by MC DRS, long standing Fabric mainstay Craig Richards makes an appearance, and techno tour de force Dense & Pika play live. 2020 Vision?s own Ralph Lawson, Berlin techno nuts Tale of Us, Detroit face Kris Wadsworth and resident of Berlin?s Panorama Bar Prosumer also get in on the action.

British hip hop luminary and turntablist DJ Format makes a stand, Munich techno prodigy Marco Zenker will play an analogue live show, Avatism brings his own brand of dark moody Italian electronica, high-energy collective Crazy P Soundsystem return, and Session Victim pull together jazz, hip hop and house influences in their live set.

Gottwood welcomes back the unstoppable Maribou State and online phenomenon and respected DJ collective Eton Messy for the second year in a row. Gang Colours provides ambient electronica, Bonobo tour support act Werkha brings a discerning selection of cuts, and catch James Welsh, beat fanatic and Compost Records star Jay Shepheard, heritage act Zero 7 (Dj) and XLR8R and Rinse FM linchpin Mr Beatnick in full effect.

The collaborative programming concept has allowed Gottwood to invite the finest and most influential promoters from around the UK and Europe to become a part of the festival. Two new hosts come to Gottwood, with London?s Percolate joining neighbours Future Disco, Nixwax and Tief, and Bristol?s Shapes joining the ranks alongside Hypercolour, Eton Messy, Fiftyone:27, Futureboogie and Real Nice. Then there?s SoC x Selective Hearing, and Hit & Run from Edinburgh and Manchester, Back To Basics, Brotherhood Soundsystem and Louche from Leeds, Waxxx from Liverpool, Newcastle?s Jaunt, Wigflex from Nottingham, Oxford?s Boxford, plus Munich?s SVS Records.

A unique and very special boutique festival celebrating some of the most diverse sounds of the underground, Gottwood is a jewel of a festival in the summer calendar returning in 2014 for Chapter Five.

It?s come a long way in the last four years, but Gottwood is still small, boutique and independent. Expect no sponsors, no corporate'ness' and no egos, just four days of underground electronic music in the depths of a Welsh forest?

See you there.
