GETTY WAR CRIMES LAWSUIT GOES FORWARD Grant MacDonald is filing a $22 billion lawsuit in Washington, D.C. against the Getty Oil Company benefactors, based on J. Dec. 20, 1940, the New York Daily News wrote about the Getty involvement with espionage at the Pierre Hotel in New York. 2003 documents declassified by UK Warfare Ministry reveal that Oct. 1941 the pro-Nazi Jean Paul Getty employed and lodged Nazis at his Pierre Hotel in New York City, Nazis who were involved in spying on and sabotaging Allied Forces

got back from Newcastle... Gatsby Ball was the best ... vibe!!!
..much more fun than the Cambridge the night before which had no vibe and certain very unfriendly bar staff (certain people should NOT be working in bars!) ... Saturday's sessions and evening fun at the Gatsby Ball more than made up for it though!
Gatsby's had a much more mixed crowd too ... probably part of the reason the vibe was so much better there!
As always at ThisIsNotArt there were interesting sessions, zany performances, and a diverse and friendly mix of people with different and complementary interests .. its more than just another party.
... and as bonus I got hold a piece of piezo plastic that might be put to use for something interesting!
...think of strange electroacoustic things :-)
Now that I'm back in Sydney I'll want to check out some of the Australian Web Week events and of course on Thursday - EXCISION! (if you like dark, envigourating electronic sounds check this guy out!)
Regarding those other festivals I would have also loved to go to (Dragon Dreaming, Bellingen, etc) ... how about we ban long weekends and let people choose their days of so that not everyone organises their festivals on the same weekend!!!
and oh yes .. the daylight saving confusion... when are they going to wake up and ether abolish this mid 20th century white picket fence nonsense or at least standardise the changeover dates worldwide and stick to it?

Yeah I started in the eighties. This was the time when you could see the greatest names in rock at your local pub. The Aus music industry is still producing world class stuff. Classic Audio Productions is a little taste of that era. Sure we have new gear but basicaly such bits as Yammy PM3000 out front and Ramsa on stage. Claire Bros foldback and the Martin RS1200's for FOH. This thing kicks. People say the the FOH is to heavy. Do you know I can rig this system on level load by myself. With the aid of a Genie lift nothing is too heavy. Even the consoles can be picked up and levelled so there really is no issue. My lighting however is a bit more modern with ETC and Strand consoles.
